Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

We know you might have questions about our services, pricing, and processes. Below are some of the most common inquiries we receive. If you don’t see your question here, feel free to give us a call or visit our shop.

What services do you offer?

We specialize in engine machining, rebuilding, and parts reconditioning for marine, industrial, and high-performance engines. Our services include:

  • Cylinder head resurfacing & valve work

  • Crankshaft grinding & polishing

  • Block boring & honing

  • Custom machining & precision measurements

  • Full engine rebuilds

Do you work on all engine types?

We focus primarily on diesel and gasoline engines for marine, industrial, and performance applications. If you have a specific engine, call us to see if we can help!

Can I bring in just a part instead of a full engine?

Yes! We regularly service individual engine components such as cylinder heads, crankshafts, and engine blocks.

How long does an engine rebuild or machining job take?

Turnaround time depends on the scope of work and our current workload.

  • Smaller jobs (resurfacing, grinding, honing): Typically 3-5 business days

  • Full engine rebuilds: Varies based on parts availability, usually 2-6 weeks

We’ll give you a more precise timeframe when you bring your engine or parts in.

Do I need an appointment, or can I just walk in?

For quick questions or drop-offs, walk-ins are welcome. However, for detailed engine work or rebuilds, we recommend calling ahead to schedule a consultation.

Can you give me a price quote over the phone?

We can provide general pricing estimates, but final costs depend on inspection and machine work needed. The best way to get an accurate quote is to bring your engine or parts to our shop.

How much does an engine rebuild cost?

Prices vary based on the engine type, condition, and work required. A standard rebuild typically starts at $5,000, but a proper estimate can only be given after inspection.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes, for full rebuilds or custom machining, we require a deposit before work begins.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, credit/debit cards, and business checks.

Do you sell engine parts?

Yes, we stock a variety of reconditioned and new engine components. If we don’t have what you need, we can source it for you.

What do I need to do before bringing in my engine?

  • Drain all fluids before drop-off

  • Remove any accessories (alternators, belts, etc.) unless we’re servicing them

  • Label any specific issues or concerns you have

Can you pick up or deliver engines?

We don’t offer in-house pickup/delivery, but we can recommend local transport services if needed.
